Meredith McIlmoyle, Executive Director of Anacortes Art Festival and driving force behind the event for 12 years. The festival, major art fair and downtown celebration each August, also supports vital art grants for our community, schools.

Bob Hogan, an acrylic artist and board member of the Anacortes Arts Commission, lives in Anacortes. He illustrated the best-selling children’s book, The Tortoise from Anacortes, with his wife Claudia, who authored it.

Jim & Stephanie Renfro retired to Anacortes 7 years ago, drawn by the variety of fantastic walking trails.  During COVID they hiked every trail and scenic road on Fidalgo Island.

Mallory Kidder, a lifelong Anacortes native, grew up hiking trails all over Fidalgo Island, enjoys nature, rain or shine. Mallory and Melissa combined efforts for 100 trips to the top of Mt. Erie in 2025.
