<p><b><strong>Meredith McIlmoyle, Executive Director of Anacortes Art Festival and driving force behind the event for 12 years. The festival, major art fair and downtown celebration each August, also supports vital art grants for our community, schools.</strong></b></p>
<p><b>Bob Hogan, </b><strong>an acrylic artist and board member of the Anacortes Arts Commission, lives in Anacortes. He illustrated the best-selling children’s book, <i>The Tortoise from Anacortes</i>, with his wife Claudia, who authored it.</strong></p>

<p style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>Jack Hartt managed Deception Pass State Park for fourteen years and helped plan and develop the trails we will be hiking.</strong></p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>Kath Goldhartt moved to Anacortes in 2021. Hiked with Seattle Mountaineers throughout PNW. Regularly hikes at ACFL, Deception Pass, Washington Park, Cascades and elsewhere.</strong></p>

At the top, you&#8217;re rewarded with sweeping views to the west of salt water and islands dotting the shore. The trail then continues to Mount Erie, where you&#8217;ll find another incredible viewpoint. Be prepared for steep inclines, wide panoramas, a rewarding workout. Measured pace keeps this hike fun, entertaining every step. Meet your leaders-</p>
<p><strong>Melissa Turnage, two decades running and hiking ACFL trail; her feet have taken her far&#8211;from Baghdad to the top of Mr. Fuji. Working on 3rd consecutive year of 100+ Mt. Erie summits. Can&#8217;t wait to enjoy the view with you. </strong></p>
<p><strong>Mallory Kidder, a lifelong Anacortes native, grew up hiking trails all over Fidalgo Island, enjoys nature, rain or shine. Mallory and Melissa combined efforts for 100 trips to the top of Mt. Erie in 2025. </strong></p>
