May brings prime time for songbird migration. This 2.5-mile circuit around Big Beaver and Mitten ponds has ups and downs and modest elevation gain. Short route but–at a birder’s pace with stops to admire lively birds, forest views and other diverse wildlife– it will require about 2 1/2 hours to complete. Bring binoculars for greater enjoyment.
