Anacortes Walk Fest--Fun and Adventures--Four days of small group outings for every ability and interest, led by dedicated locals

Our inaugural Anacortes Walk Fest (May 1–4, 2026) exceeded every expectation: 230+ participants, 29 volunteer-led walks and 93% of reservation slots filled.

Encouraged by the response, organizers have already set the date for next year: Friday, April 30–Monday, May 3, 2027. Stay tuned for details!

Highlights included a sold-out 12-mile trek to Deception Pass and such demand for the Working Waterfront tour that it ran 3 times.

Walkers came from Washington and beyond, drawn by everything from old-growth forests and downtown history strolls to summit climbs and harder treks.

Walk Fest wouldn’t happen without our generous sponsors: City of Anacortes Lodging Tax Program, Anacortes Rotary, Anacortes Parks Foundation, Island Health, Anacortes Parks and Recreation, Skagit County Parks and Recreation and HF Sinclair. Thank you.

Mark your calendars. We can’t wait to welcome you back for Walk Fest 2027.

“Great blend humor, facts, trivia and payoffs. And thanks for the insights regarding (Anacortes) Parks.”Cap Sante walkers

“We had a wonderful time and hope that Walkfest becomes an Anacortes tradition.”Guemes Island hikers

“My hike leaders were fantastic — enthusiastic, sharing tidbits about various parts of the trail and giving hikers choices (within reason) to make things a little more or less challenging.”Anacortes Community Forest Lands walker.

“Enjoyed meeting the 2 geologists who shared their love of geology and seeing the mind- boggling, rock formation at the last stop. Looked like a wave curl.”Washington Park walkers.
