Date and Time: Friday, May 1. 8:30 a.m.

One of our more challenging treks, this adventure begins with a steady climb through the forest towards Sugarloaf Mountain. At the top, you’re rewarded with sweeping views to the west of salt water and islands dotting the shore. The trail then continues to Mount Erie, where you’ll find another incredible viewpoint. Be prepared for steep inclines, wide panoramas, a rewarding workout. Measured pace keeps this hike fun, entertaining every step. Meet your leaders-

Melissa Turnage, two decades running and hiking ACFL trail; her feet have taken her far–from Baghdad to the top of Mr. Fuji. Working on 3rd consecutive year of 100+ Mt. Erie summits. Can’t wait to enjoy the view with you.

Mallory Kidder, a lifelong Anacortes native, grew up hiking trails all over Fidalgo Island, enjoys nature, rain or shine. Mallory joined Melissa for 100 trips to the top of Mt. Erie 100 times in 2025.
