304 — The magic of Whistle Lake

Follow the pathway into the lush forest lands on a walk circling a picturesque lake. Join us on this iconic hike and learn why Whistle Lake is so popular in the summer!  People come from all over to enjoy the clear, deep water that Whistle offers.  As the weather warms, it becomes a playground for swimmers, paddle boarders and cliff jumpers.  We will point out all the favorite summer spots around the lake, you may just want to return!

Meet your walk leaders-

Lin Nichols, enthusiastic hiker & trail runner, knows all trails in the Anacortes Community Forest Lands (ACFL). Enjoys motivating her companions with humor in all types of conditions. 

Jean Ford Andrich, life-long Anacortes who explored local trails before the ACFL was created. Avid hiker and backpacker; loves sharing her passion for the woods.

Rating: Moderate on a good foot path with a 390-foot elevation gain/loss.
Meeting Point: Whistle Lake Trailhead: From downtown Anacortes, go south on Commercial Avenue, go straight at the roundabout, turn left on Fidalgo Avenue, turn left on Hillcrest Road, turn right onto Whistle Lake Road, go about 2 miles and follow the signs.
